Research collaborations and contracts





Ther main specificity of the SEP Laboratory is to work in close collaboration with French teams at INSEP as part of the scientific support of the Olympic and Paralympic federations. The lab missions are to analyze, innovate and actively participate in knowledge and tech transfer of and technology for the benefit of high-level sport performance. These actions are part of the perspective of major international events, in particular the Olympic and Paralympic Games, including those that will take place in Paris in 2024. This mission involves a daily relationship with the 22 French federations hosted by INSEP, i.e. 810 athletes, as well as with the Grand INSEP certified centres all over France. This work has led, for example, to the realization of +500 support actions with 70 finalists at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games.

Scientific Support for Performance Support Contacts


For the past fifteen years, the SEP Laboratory has been supporting actors in the socio-economic world aiming to develop their R&D activity related to the research topics investigated by our team. In this context, we welcome companies, federations or institutions sharing common ambitions in terms of innovation in the analysis and optimization of sports performance. The SEP Laboratory thus offers its expertise, its scientific and institutional environment within the framework of collaboration contracts, (CIFRE PhD) or partnerships, to meet their needs. The collaboration with Erganeo, formalized by a framework agreement signed in 2017, constitutes from this point of view a real turning point in the laboratory's strategy since it establishes the permanent concern to provide for the valorization of these activities of development and tech transfer. Thus, the laboratory's projects have been shared on several occasions with Erganeo in order to detect tech transfer opportunities. This work has already resulted in two declarations of invention and one patent (i.e. method of quantifying the mechanical load by accelerometry).
